RDS Day 18: Collage! Wow this class was just fantastic. I was ticked off by my son after my last post for being so down on myself so we talked about being true versus being unrealistically positive about one’s work (for marketing purposes). Ar RDS Day 15 & 16: I was a bit lukewarm about these two Transforming Observation classes - sometimes you are just not in the mood or can’t get to grips with your chosen materials. We were asked to bring in personal objects for one and to re- RDS Day 14: figures in motion in the observation and imagination class. We looked at several artists who depicted or depict morion in a variety of ways: swimming pools by Leon Kossof, photos of athletes by Muybridge, ballet dancers by Degas, dogs b RDS Day 13: Patterns, colour, shapes. We looked at artists who’ve incorporated patterns into their work, Matisse, Bonnard, Picasso where the patterns become as integral to the work as the figure or landscape, often taking on a life of their own I’ve had a number of fantastic commissions since Paris which I’m juggling with my study at the Royal Drawing School this term. We began with a warm up - folding an A1 sheet into 9. 9 x 5 minute drawings each with a different aim-continuous line, dots and dashes, tone only, left hand, 5 lines only, n What a dynamic and open minded sporting organisation @worldrowingofficial is - acknowledging the role art and creativity plays within the sport we ♥️ Thrilled to have made the final, next stop Sevilla!! RDS Day 11: Well…. we were focusing on Bonnard and Winifred Nicholson last week and their incredible use of colour sometimes at the expense of form. Our aim for the day was to draw colour in black and white using a variety of different marks. RDS Day 10 Evening Life class: The lights were dimmed (so even harder for me to stay awake) and we drew against the large window onto the street. It was already dark outside but the neon lights gave the class an Edward Hopper ambience. Take homes: ?
